Most of the people lose 50-100 strands of hair every day. When hair is washed, people can lose up to 250 strands of hair. About 90 % of a person’s hair will be in the growth phase at any given time. Another 10 % will be in the dormant stage and after 2-3 months these dormant hairs falls out.

Natural Treatments for Hair Loss

Aloe vera

Aloe vera is another superb remedy to stop hair loss. It is packed with amino acids, antioxidants, phytonutrients and other wonderful ingredients that help strengthen the hair from within. Drink 1 to 2 tablespoon aloe vera juice (or fresh gel) once or twice a day, preferably on an empty stomach. Aloe vera helps re-alkalise the body which is great, as acidic environment affects functioning of every cell of the body, including hair cells.

Hair Oil Massage

The first step that you can take to reduce hair loss treatment is to massage your scalp with appropriate hair oil. Proper hair and scalp massage will increase blood flow to the hair follicles, condition the scalp, and enhance the strength of your hair’s roots. It will also promote relaxation and reduce feelings of stress.You can use hair oils like coconut or almond oil, olive oil, castor oil, amla oil, or others. Add a few drops of rosemary essential oil to the base oil for better and faster results. Other types of oil that you can use are emu oil, argan oil, and wheat germ oil.

Anthralin

Anthralin is a thick, tarry substance that is applied to the hair daily and then rinsed off at night. Typically prescribed for psoriasis, anthralin ointment or cream can be used to grow hair for patients suffering from alopecia areata.

Natural Shampoo

If you are suffering from hair loss, the first thing that you should do is switch to natural homemade shampoo. Harsh detergents can irritate the hair follicles and cause hair loss. Even so-called ‘natural’ shampoos can contain synthetic detergents, parabens and artificial fragrance, which may harm the hair follicles.

Licorice

Licorice is another superb herb that helps prevent hair loss. Licorice has a weak anti-androgen effects and is especially beneficial in male pattern baldness.The wonderful amino acids and polysaccharides in licorice help keep the scalp moist and hydrated. They also strengthen the hair shaft and provide natural shine to your hair. In addition, licorice root is very useful in skin conditions like dandruff, eczema, psoriasis, and acne.

Fenugreek

Sweet-smelling fenugreek is a plant with an ancient background as both culinary seasoning and natural remedy. Soak fenugreek seeds in water overnight then grind into a vitamin-rich paste which can be applied directly to the scalp to improve circulation and stimulate hair follicles. Alternately, you can mix fenugreek paste with Greek yogurt or strained yogurt for added exfoliating power. Leave either mixture on the scalp for thirty minutes before washing with an all-natural cleanser such as amla, reetha, and shikakai.

Beetroot

Beetroot juice contains carbohydrates, protein, potassium, phosphorus, calcium and vitamins B and C. All these nutrients are essential for healthy hair growth. Include fresh beetroot juice in your diet. In addition to that, spinach juice, alfalfa juice, lettuce juice, or carrot juice will help keep your hair healthy. Alternatively, grind a few beetroot leaves (boiled in water) along with henna and apply the paste on your scalp. Leave it on for 15 to 20 minutes before rinsing it out. Repeat several times a week.
